As backpacks are packed, lunch boxes are filled, and a new school year begins, many parents are thinking about school supplies, class schedules, and homework. While those things are important, there is something even more valuable we can help our children prepare each day, their hearts.

Every day our children will face choices. They may encounter peer pressure, unkind words, fear, disappointment, or opportunities to stand up for what is right. While we can’t walk beside them in every classroom or on every playground, we can help equip them with something that never leaves them: the Armor of God.

What Is the Armor of God?

In Ephesians 6:10–18, Paul reminds believers that our greatest battles are spiritual. God gives us spiritual armor to stand firm in truth, faith, righteousness, salvation, His Word, and prayer.

As children grow, these truths become practical tools they can carry with them every day.

  • The Belt of Truth reminds us to always tell the truth.

  • The Breastplate of Righteousness helps us choose what is right.

  • The Shoes of Peace help us bring kindness wherever we go.

  • The Shield of Faith reminds us to trust God, even when things are hard.

  • The Helmet of Salvation helps us remember who we belong to.

  • The Sword of the Spirit teaches us to use God’s Word when facing challenges.

Making Learning Fun

One of the best ways children learn is through hands-on activities. That’s why we created our Armor of God Coloring Page to make meaningful conversations simple, engaging, and memorable.

As your child colors each piece of armor, take a few moments to talk together.

Ask questions like:

  • What does it mean to tell the truth?

  • How can you show kindness at school today?

  • What should you do if someone is being left out?

  • What Bible verse can you remember when you’re feeling afraid?

These small conversations can plant seeds that last a lifetime.

A Simple Family Challenge

Before your child leaves for school each morning, spend just one minute praying together.

You might pray:

“Lord, help me wear Your Armor today. Help me speak truth, choose what is right, trust You, be kind to others, and remember Your Word wherever I go. Amen.”

These everyday moments help build confidence...

not just for school, but for life.

To celebrate the start of the school year, we’re sharing our Armor of God Coloring Page to help families begin these conversations together. Print it, color it, display it on the refrigerator, or use it as part of your family devotional time.

Our prayer is that every child who colors this page will remember that while backpacks carry school supplies, God’s Armor prepares our hearts.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”Ephesians 6:10 (KJV)

Little Bloom Room exists to help families grow in faith through books, activities, and hands-on learning. We hope this simple coloring page becomes a meaningful part of your family’s back-to-school tradition.
